Free WPS SIF File Checker

Paste or choose your UAE salary file (.sif) to check the layout, IBANs, dates, totals and file name before it goes to your bank. Your file stays in your browser and is never uploaded.

Filled in when you choose a file. It is checked against the SCR line.

What a pass means. The file is well formed and its totals add up. Whether a bank accepts it also depends on things the file cannot show: the salary registered on the employee's MOHRE contract, whether the account is open, whether the labour card matches MOHRE records, and whether your account is funded. Your bank's own WPS guide is the final word on small details.

What this checker looks at

  • The first line is the SCR record, with no header row, and every other line is an EDR record.
  • Field counts, so extra or trailing commas are caught.
  • 13-digit employer ID, 9-digit routing codes, 14-digit labour card numbers.
  • IBANs: 23 characters, starting AE, with valid check digits, and no duplicates.
  • Dates in YYYY-MM-DD, days in period that match the dates, and pay periods inside the salary month.
  • Amounts as plain decimals, with no commas, signs or currency symbols.
  • Record count, and the SCR total matching the sum of every fixed plus variable amount, to the fil.
  • The file name: employer ID, then YYMMDD, then hhmmss, matching the SCR.

Common reasons a WPS file is rejected

  • Format: a wrong field count, a trailing comma, a currency symbol in a number, or a date in DD/MM/YYYY.
  • Totals: the SCR total is out by even AED 0.01 against the employee rows.
  • Wage mismatch: salary figures that differ from the employee's registered contract.
  • Bank side: an invalid or closed IBAN, the same employee twice, or a labour card or establishment ID that does not match.
  • Timing: leaving the file until after month end close, with no time to fix and resubmit.

Common questions

What is a WPS SIF file?

A Salary Information File is the comma separated text file you send to your WPS agent bank each month. It has one SCR header line with your employer ID, bank routing code, salary month, record count and total, then one EDR line per employee with their labour card number, bank routing code, IBAN, pay period and pay amounts.

Is my salary file uploaded anywhere?

No. The checker runs entirely in your browser. The file is read on your own device and is never sent to OfficeHR or anyone else.

If the checker passes my file, will the bank accept it?

Not guaranteed. The checker proves the file is well formed and adds up. A bank or MOHRE can still reject it for reasons that are outside the file, such as a salary that differs from the employee's registered contract, a closed account, a labour card that does not match MOHRE records or an unfunded account.

Why was my WPS file rejected?

The common causes are format problems (a wrong field count, a trailing comma, a date in the wrong format), totals that do not reconcile to the cent, an invalid or duplicated IBAN, salary figures that do not match the registered contract, and bank side checks such as a labour card or establishment ID mismatch.

What is the correct SIF file name?

Thirteen digits for the MOHRE employer ID, then the creation date as YYMMDD and the time as hhmmss, with a .sif extension, for example 1234567890123260301083000.sif. The date and time must match those inside the SCR line.

What does comparing two files do?

It lines up two SIF files and lists every field that differs, by line and field name. It is the quickest way to test a new payroll system: generate last month's file in the new system and compare it with the file your bank accepted.
